<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Background: Reconstruction of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) and posterior oblique ligament (POL) is required to restore knee stability. The Lind technique uses a single pedicled semitendinosus tendon to reconstruct both the MCL and POL, whereas the LaPrade technique employs two free grafts, semitendinosus and gracilis. Purpose: To compare these techniques in controlling tibial translation and rotation after combined MCL + POL section (grade 3 medial injury). Methods: Eighteen fresh-frozen knees (mean age: 75 years) were tested at 30° of flexion using the Dyneelax® laximeter in three conditions: intact, sectioned, and reconstructed (9 Lind, 9 LaPrade). Results: The Lind technique demonstrated less residual laxity in translation (0.70 vs 1.21 mm, p<0.05) and external rotation (0.48 vs 1.4°, p<0.05). No significant difference was observed in internal rotation. Conclusion: Both techniques improved stability, but the Lind technique appeared to better control tibial translation and external rotation.</dcterms:abstract>
