La varicelle, fréquente chez les enfants, est généralement bénigne mais peut entraîner des complications. Le virus peut rester latent dans les ganglions nerveux et se réactiver plus tard sous forme de zona, souvent douloureux, touchant surtout les personnes âgées ou immunodéprimées. Ce travail décrit le virus, les pathologies associées, ainsi que les traitements symptomatiques et curatifs. Il met en lumière l’importance du pharmacien dans le conseil, la prévention et la gestion des ordonnances. Le pharmacien joue également un rôle clé dans la vaccination contre la varicelle et le zona, contribuant à réduire leur incidence. Enfin, il peut promouvoir une bonne hygiène de vie, conseiller sur la nutrition pour renforcer l’immunité et recommander des médecines douces comme la phytothérapie et l’aromathérapie. This thesis explores the role of community pharmacists in managing chickenpox and shingles, two conditions caused by the same virus: the Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV). Chickenpox, common in children, is generally mild but can sometimes lead to complications. The virus can remain dormant in nerve ganglia and reactivate years later as shingles—a painful condition mainly affecting the elderly or immunocompromised individuals. This research describes the virus, the associated diseases, and both symptomatic and therapeutic treatments. It highlights the pharmacist’s key role in patient counseling, prevention, and prescription management. Pharmacists also play an essential role in vaccination against chickenpox and shingles, helping to reduce the incidence and complications of these illnesses. Finally, they can promote healthy lifestyle habits, offer nutritional advice to strengthen immunity, and recommend alternative therapies such as herbal medicine and aromatherapy.
