     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Les produits portables sont devenus de plus en plus omniprésents dans notre vie quotidienne. Ils sont des outils utiles pour les soins de santé et la sécurité, comme les aides à la navigation pour les personnes malvoyantes, et offrent de la sécurité aux professionnels comme les pompiers en fournissant respectivement la détection et le suivi. Plusieurs dispositifs portables peuvent être utilisés pour former un réseau et transmettre des paramètres utiles de surveillance de la santé aux professionnels médicaux. Pour accroître l'adoption des produits portables, ils doivent être confortables, légers et ne pas entraver le mouvement de l'utilisateur. Les applications sur le corps sont soumises à des conditions variables en raison des changements de l'environnement, des mouvements du corps et de différentes courbures dues au placement sur les différentes positions sur l'utilisateur. Les structures à ondes progressives, telles que les antennes à ondes de fuite, peuvent être utilisées comme une solution viable pour réaliser la reconfigurabilité aux fréquences millimétriques tout en respectant les exigences des antennes portables sur le corps. Dans la thèse, il est montré que les antennes à ondes de fuite basées sur des microbandes peuvent être efficacement sinueuses pour afficher une polarisation diversifiée et des caractéristiques double bande dans la bande millimétrique.</dcterms:abstract>
     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Wearable products have become increasingly ubiquitous in our day-to-day life. They are useful tools for healthcare and safety like navigation aids for visually impaired people, and safety to professionals like firefighters by providing detection and sensing respectively. Multiple wearable devices can be used to form a network and transmit useful health monitoring parameters to the medical professionals. To increase the adoption of wearable products, they must be comfortable and lightweight and not hamper the movement of the user. On-body applications are subject to varying conditions due to the changes in the environment, body movement and different curvatures due to placement on the different positions on the user. Reconfigurability in antennas can mean frequency-, pattern- or polarization- reconfigurable. The different types of reconfigurability provides an effective advantages such as frequency tuning to support many applications, improved signal quality, and better sensing. Traveling wave structures such as leaky-wave antennas can be used as a viable solution to achieve reconfigurability at mmWave frequencies while maintaining the requirements for the on-body wearable antennas. In the thesis, it is shown that leaky-wave antenna based on microstrips can be effectively meandered to show diverse polarization and dual-band characteristics in mmWave band. </dcterms:abstract>
