     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Le déploiement de l’Internet des objets (IoT) est souvent limité par la capacité des batteries. Afin d’augmenter leur durée de vie, cette thèse explore l’utilisation de l’énergie radiofréquence (RF) comme source alternative pour alimenter une wake-up radio (WuRx) à ultra faible consommation. L’utilisation de ces WuRx permet de maintenir des dispositifs IoT, tels que des capteurs sans fil, en veille profonde à faible consommation et de les réveiller lorsque cela est nécessaire. Le premier défi consiste à concevoir un circuit de récupération d’énergie RF capable de fournir une tension régulée à partir de faibles niveaux de puissance RF. Une solution innovante est proposée sur la base de redresseurs RF à diode Schottky utilisant la technique inductive. Avec de faibles niveaux de puissance à son entrée, ce circuit permet de maintenir le fonctionnement d’un circuit de gestion d’énergie, qui alimente ensuite une WuRx semi-active et stocke de l’énergie lorsque des niveaux de puissance élevés sont disponibles. En raison de la nature intermittente de l’énergie RF, le second défi consiste à adapter la consommation d’énergie de la WuRx. Aspect abordé en modulant sa qualité de service, définie comme le nombre de signaux traités parmi tous les signaux reçus, en fonction du niveau d’énergie RF récoltée dans une batterie.</dcterms:abstract>
     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">The deployment of connected devices in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT) is often constrained by battery capacity. To extend their operational lifespan, this thesis explores the use of Radio Frequency (RF) energy harvesting as an alternative power source for ultra-low-power Wake-up Radio (WuRx) devices. A WuRx enables IoT devices like wireless sensors to remain in deep sleep mode with minimal power consumption, waking them only when necessary. The first challenge is to design an RF energy harvesting circuit capable of providing regulated voltage from low RF power levels. An innovative solution is proposed, featuring an RF rectifier circuit with Schottky diodes and employing the inductive technique. This circuit sustains the operation of a power management circuit that subsequently powers a semi-active WuRx and stores RF energy when higher RF powers are available. Given the intermittent nature of RF energy, the second challenge is to adapt the energy consumption of the WuRx dynamically. We propose adjusting this consumption by modulating its quality of service, defined as the ratio of processed signals among all the received ones, based on the level of RF energy harvested in a battery.
