L’objectif de cette étude est d’analyser les représentations actuelles associées au terme « soins palliatifs » de la population en médecine générale pour identifier l’implication qu’elles ont pour le médecin généraliste. Méthodes : Etude qualitative par entretiens semi-dirigés de patients de médecine générale et analyse thématique réflexive inductive. Résultats : 15 entretiens permettent d’avoir accès aux connaissances, aux peurs et aux attentes des patients sur la fin de vie. Le médecin généraliste à un rôle majeur pour anticiper, préparer et accompagner la fin de vie des patients. Conclusion : Un lien fort est établi entre soins palliatifs et médecine générale. Les patients estiment nécessaire l’intégration de la fin de vie dans le parcours de santé pour être placés au cœur des décisions qui les concernent. Introduction: The population's representations of palliative care are part of an evolving political, legislative and ethical context. The aim of this study is to analyze the current representations associated with the term "palliative care" in general practice, and to identify their implications for the general practitioner. Methods: Qualitative study using semi-structured interviews with general practice patients and inductive reflexive thematic analysis. Results: 15 interviews provided access to patients' knowledge, fears and expectations regarding the end of life. General practitioners have a major role to play in anticipating, preparing and accompanying patients at the end of life. Conclusion: There is a strong link between palliative care and general practice. Patients feel that end-of-life care needs to be integrated into their health care pathway, so that they can be placed at the heart of the decisions that concern them.
