Il se définit par une triade de symptômes (déficit de l’attention, impulsivité, hyperactivité) et est fréquemment associé à diverses comorbidités. Très souvent banalisé, le TDAH est considéré comme sous-diagnostiqué et représente malgré tout plus de 5% de la population mondiale. Ce trouble devient un enjeu majeur de santé publique en raison du manque de prises en charge adaptées, entraînant des conséquences délétères pour les enfants et favorisant la chronicité des symptômes. Sa prise en charge consiste en un accompagnement psychoéducatif puis, en cas de nécessité, pharmacologique par le méthylphénidate. Toutefois, les échecs pharmacologiques et la réticence parentale soulignent la nécessité de nouvelles stratégies thérapeutiques complémentaires, pouvant compléter et renforcer le traitement médicamenteux et favoriser ainsi sa prise en charge. Aujourd’hui, les avancées croissantes dans la compréhension du rôle du microbiote intestinal et de sa communication bidirectionnelle avec le cerveau ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives thérapeutiques. Ce travail, axé sur l’enfant, expose les approches émergentes pour moduler l’équilibre du microbiote, améliorant ainsi le tableau clinique du TDAH, tout en mettant en lumière le rôle du pharmacien d’officine dans cette approche de prise en charge multidisciplinaire. ADHD is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder, primarily affecting children. It is defined by a triad of symptoms (attention deficit, impulsivity, hyperactivity) and is frequently associated with various comorbidities. Very often trivialized, ADHD is considered underdiagnosed and despite everything represents more than 5% of the world population. This disorder is becoming a major public health issue due to the lack of appropriate care, leading to harmful consequences for children and promoting the chronicity of symptoms. Its treatment consists of psychoeducational support then, if necessary, pharmacological support with methylphenidate. However, pharmacological failures and parental reluctance highlight the need for new complementary therapeutic strategies, which can complement and reinforce drug treatment and thus promote its management. Today, growing advances in understanding the role of the intestinal microbiota and its bidirectional communication with the brain are opening up new therapeutic perspectives. This work, focused on children, presents emerging approaches to modulate the balance of the microbiota, thus improving the clinical picture of ADHD, while highlighting the role of the community pharmacist in this multidisciplinary management approach.
