Par ailleurs, les médecins généralistes sont en première ligne dans le parcours de soins en santé mentale, et constituent ainsi des acteurs du bon usage de ces thérapeutiques. L’objectif principal de cette étude est d’analyser l’évolution de la consommation de psychotropes prescrits par les médecins généralistes en Bretagne. L’objectif secondaire est d’investiguer l’impact de la période COVID-19 sur la dynamique de consommation des psychotropes. Matériels et méthodes : Une étude observationnelle rétrospective a été réalisée entre le 1er janvier 2016 et le 31 décembre 2022 à partir des bases de données Open Data mises à disposition par l’assurance maladie. Les dynamiques de consommation de psychotropes (anxiolytiques, antidépresseurs, hypnotiques et antipsychotiques) issues de prescription de médecins généralistes bretons ont été analysées en fonction du nombre de boîtes, du nombre de consommant et de la tranche d’âge des patients (moins de 20 ans ; 20-59 ans ; plus de 59 ans). Résultats : Les anxiolytiques sont en diminution sur la population générale. Les antidépresseurs sont en augmentation surtout chez les moins de 20 ans. Les hypnotiques sont en diminution. La consommation d’antipsychotiques est stable (augmentation chez les moins de 20 ans. Conclusion : En Bretagne, la part de la population à consommer des psychotropes délivrés en ville augmente avec l’âge, bien que les prescriptions respectent un bon niveau de bon usage. L’impact du COVID-19 a été notable pour les anxiolytiques (rebond d’utilisation) et pour les antidépresseurs (augmentation sur la population générale et surtout chez les moins de 20 ans). Une étude similaire à plus grande échelle pourrait être intéressante dans le but d’améliorer le bon usage des psychotropes sur le territoire. Introduction : France is one of the largest consumers of psychotropic drugs, including in particular anxiolytics, antidepressants, hypnotics and antipsychotics. Furthermore, general practitioners are on the front line in the mental health care pathway, and are thus key players in the proper use of these therapies. The main objective of this study is to analyze the evolution of the consumption of psychotropic drugs prescribed by general practitioners in Brittany. The secondary objective is to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 period on the dynamics of consumption of psychotropic drugs. Methods : A retrospective observational study was carried out between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2022 using Open Data databases made available by National health insurance. The dynamics of consumption of psychotropic drugs (anxiolytics, antidepressants, hypnotics and antipsychotics) from prescriptions by Breton general practitioners were analyzed according to the number of boxes, the number of users and the age group of patients (less than 20 years old; 20-59 years; over 59 years). Results : Anxiolytics are decreasing in the general population. Antidepressants are on the rise, especially among those under 20. Hypnotics are decreasing. The consumption of antipsychotics is stable (increase among those under 20 years old). Conclusion : In Brittany, the share of the population consuming psychotropic drugs dispensed outside hospital services increases with age, although prescriptions respect a good level of good use. The impact of COVID-19 has been notable for anxiolytics (rebound in use) and for antidepressants (increase in the general population and especially among those under 20). A similar study on a larger scale could be interesting with the aim of improving the proper use of psychotropic drugs in the territory.
