Elle entraine de nombreux symptômes urinaires et impacte négativement la qualité de vie des patients. Son traitement est en premier lieu médicamenteux mais peut nécessiter un traitement invasif en cas d’efficacité insuffisante. La chirurgie est alors le traitement de référence, cependant elle expose à des effets indésirables. Ces dernières années, l’embolisation des artères prostatiques (EAP) est apparue comme une alternative à la chirurgie de l’adénome prostatique. Dans ce travail, nous avons voulus en évaluer l’efficacité sur la base du score IPSS (International Prostate Score Syndrome) et la Qol (Quality Of Life) chez 43 patients embolisés au CHU de Rennes entre 2018 et 2023. Beginine hypertrophy of the prostate (BPH) is a common pathology in the general population, mainly in men over 50, linked to the development of a prostatic adenoma responsible for chronic obstruction of bladder emptying. It causes numerous urinary symptoms and has a negative impact on patients' quality of life. Treatment is primarily by medication, but may require invasive therapy if efficacy is insufficient. In such cases, surgery is the treatment of choice, although it can have adverse effects. In recent years, prostatic artery embolization (PAE) has emerged as an alternative to surgery for prostatic adenoma. In this study, we set out to evaluate the efficacy of EAP on the basis of the International Prostate Score Syndrome (IPSS) and Quality Of Life (QOL) in 43 patients embolized at Rennes University Hospital between 2018 and 2023.
