     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Chez les insectes phytophages, la nature des signaux à l’origine de la reconnaissance d’un hôte est largement décrite dans la littérature, contrairement à leur implication dans les préférences inter- et intraspécifiques. Nous avons étudié les signaux impliqués dans la reconnaissance et l’acceptation de trois espèces (Brassica rapa, B. oleracea et Sinapis alba) et populations de Brassicaceae hôtes par les femelles et les larves de la mouche du chou (Delia radicum). Les composés volatils ubiquistes émis par la partie aérienne de la plante semblent être impliqués dans la discrimination interspécifique. Nous avons également montré que selon leur combinaison, ils agissent indépendamment sur des comportements pré- et post-atterrissage des femelles. De plus, les composés de surface foliaire ne semblent pas être un signal de reconnaissance commun à tous les hôtes de la gamme, et sont impliqués dans les préférences intraspécifiques seulement chez B. rapa. Enfin, nous avons montré que les choix effectués par les femelles ne sont pas toujours corrélés avec la performance de leurs larves, qui peuvent rejeter, sur la base des composés racinaires, l’hôte préféré par les femelles mais seulement à l’échelle intraspécifique chez S. alba. L’ensemble de ces résultats mettent en lumière la grande complexité de la nature et des effets des signaux qui sont impliqués dans les préférences de l’hôte, en soulignant la nécessité d’intégrer une certaine diversité végétale dans les études sur les interactions entre les plantes et les insectes phytophages.   </dcterms:abstract>
     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">In phytophagous insects, the nature of the cues responsible for host discrimination is widely described in the literature, contrary to their involvement in inter- and intraspecific preferences. We studied cues involved in the recognition and acceptation processes of three Brassicaceae species (Brassica rapa, B. oleracea and Sinapis alba) and populations by females and larvae of the cabbage root fly (Delia radicum). Ubiquitous volatile compounds emitted by the aerial part of the plant appear involved in the interspecific discrimination. We also showed that, depending on their combination, they act independently on pre- and post-landing behaviors . Furthermore, leaf surface compounds do not appear as recognition cues common to all host plants, and are involved in intraspecific preferences but only in B. rapa. Finally, we showed that females' choices are not always correlated with the performance of their larvae. Indeed, these appear to reject, based on root compounds, the host preferred by females but only at the intraspecific scale within S. alba. Taken together, these results highlight the high complexity of the nature and effects of cues involved in host preferences. This emphasizes the need to integrate more plant diversity in studies on interactions between plants and phytophagous insects. </dcterms:abstract>
