Outre leurs rôles indéniables dans la communication, les OMM sont retrouvées également dans d'autres domaines comme le domaine médical, notamment pour des explorations diagnostiques superficielles et comme analgésique. C’est cette dernière utilisation qui a intéressé la société REMEDEE Labs en créant un dispositif médical utilisant les ondes millimétriques pour pallier la douleur, appelé Remedee one. Néanmoins, les mécanismes sous-jacents aux effets analgésiques ne sont toujours pas clairement compris. Durant ce projet de thèse, l’étude de ce dispositif a été effectuée. Dans un premier temps, les travaux se sont concentrés sur l’innocuité de la thérapie, s’intéressant à plusieurs stress : le stress thermique, le stress oxydant et le stress génotoxique. Dans un second temps, l’étude des mécanismes dans la réponse analgésique été investigué, notamment en mettant l’accent sur le système sérotoninergique. The millimeter wave range (mmW) is rich in scientific and technological applications. In addition to their undeniable roles in communication, MMW are also found in other fields such as the medical field, in particular for superficial diagnostic explorations and as an analgesic. It is this last use that interested REMEDEE Labs by creating a medical device using millimeter waves to alleviate pain, called Remedee one. Nevertheless, the mechanisms underlying the analgesic effects are still not clearly understood. During this thesis project, the study of this device was carried out. Initially, the work focused on the safety of the therapy, looking at several stresses : heat stress, oxidative stress and genotoxic stress. In a second step, the study of the precise mechanisms in the analgesic response was investigated, in particular by focusing on the serotonergic system.
