L’objectif de cette thèse est d’en analyser les déterminants, en observant les évolutions du marché, les stratégies marketing mises en place par les industriels et le niveau d’information du praticien. Une étude de la prescription réalisée auprès des enseignants et des futurs praticiens du Centre de Soins Dentaires du CHU de Rennes ainsi qu’un recensement des modèles proposés et leur prix en GMS, pharmacie et par internet complètent cette analyse. Les résultats montrent que le praticien dispose d’un panel de brosses largement suffisant pour pouvoir adapter sa prescription mais la profusion de produits implique des recherches en amont et une connaissance correcte du marché. Renforcer la transmission de l’information et des connaissances et établir un schéma de prescription clair pouvant servir de modèle semblent nécessaires. Toothbrushes are essential towards maintaining good oral hygiene. The goal of this thesis is to analyze the prescription’s determinants, observing market’s changes, marketing strategies and dentists’ level of information. A study of the prescription from the dentists at the dental care center of the CHU de Pontchaillou and a census of product range and price in supermarkets, pharmacies and online complete the analysis.Results are that dentists have access to more than enough different toothbrushes to make their choice and adapt the prescription, but the abundance of products implies upstream research and good market knowledge. Strengthening information and knowledge transmission, and establishing a clear prescription scheme that can serve as a model seems necessary.
