La CALAS a été créé afin d’améliorer leur prise en charge somatique. Objectif : Évaluer l’opinion des médecins traitants sur l’apport de la CALAS dans le suivi somatique de ces patients. Méthodes : Une étude qualitative par entretiens individuels semi-dirigés a été réalisée auprès de dix médecins généralistes. L’analyse des données s’inspire de la théorisation ancrée. Résultats : Le suivi des patients atteints de maladies psychiques sévères est inadapté. Ces patients consultent peu et leur présentation est difficile. Un sentiment d’incompétence voire d’appréhension est exprimé par les médecins. Le manque de coordination complexifie encore ce suivi. La CALAS apporte un support médical sur lequel les médecins peuvent s’appuyer. L’IDE a une approche à la fois complémentaire à celle du médecin et experte en psychiatrie. Elle vise l’autonomie du patient tout en permettant l’accompagnement des patients les plus passifs. La CALAS permet une amélioration de la prévention, grâce à un temps et une écoute plus adaptée. Conclusion : L’accompagnement complexe des patients atteints de pathologies psychiatriques justifie l’intérêt de la CALAS auprès des médecins. L’apport de la CALAS, notamment en matière de prévention, légitime sa pérennisation. Context: Life expectancy of patients suffering severe mental illness is reduced by 15 to 20 years. CALAS has been created in order to improve their somatic treatment. Objective: To assess the opinion of general practitioners on the contribution of CALAS to the somatic follow-up of those patients. Method: A qualitative study based on semi-structured interviews was contucted with ten general practitioners. Data analysis was based on grounded theorization. Results: Medical support for patients with severe psychiatric illnesses is inadequate. Those patients consult little and their presentation is difficult. Doctors express a feeling of incompetence and apprehension. The lack of coordination further complicates this monitoring. CALAS provides a medical foundation on which doctors can rely on. Nurses have a complementary and expert approach in psychiatry to the doctor’s. CALAS aims to empower the patient while supporting the most passive patients. CALAS enables an improvement of the monitoring and of prevention with a more suitable support and pace. Conclusion: The complex follow-up of patients with severe psychiatric illnesses explains the benefit of CALAS to doctors. The contribution of CALAS, particularly in terms of prevention, makes the case for its sustainability.
